Steve

Steve is a hardened Road Rider with more grit than the Yorkshire Dales! Steve is the second generation of the family to run Woodrups and has been building frames for international cycle champions and teams since the sixties. His frame building experience is second to none and is as much part of his being as turning up at 7am on a Sunday morning for a crack at a time trial title. He has a passion for Cycling and takes immense pride from his business and its contribution to cycling as a whole. He takes part regularly in time trials and road races and is a familiar face on the scene. Steve cycles to win and runs his business with the same determination to provide the best service he possibly can for all.

Favourite bike: His own hand built Woodrup IL Primo
Favourite ride: Gran Fondo Pinarello
Favourite climb: Garsdale
Favourite descent: Any without loose sheep!

Tony

Tony is the third generation of the family to run the business and naturally, has cycling in his blood. He is one of only a few in the country to be a trained cycle mechanic to Cytech Level 3. He has been repairing and riding bikes for over 10years. His most intriguing repair was fixing a cable system operating the face of a Bear suit for Yorkshire Television! Tony is a socialite and likes nothing more than spending a day riding the trails with a bunch of mates and recalling exploits over a beer later. More recently he has entered the Downhilling scene, riding downhill courses trails in Yorkshire, Northumberland, Wales with regular trips burning the slopes at Morzine. His enthusiasm for bikes is as infectious as his knee grazes.

Favourite bike:
Specialized Enduro
Favourite ride: The one that ends at the pub!
Favourite climb: The one up to the best downhill
Favourite descent: The ‘Honda’ challenge in Morzine

Craig

Craig is a certified wheel builder and qualified mechanic to Cytech level 2, having worked with us for over 3 years. Constantly looking for new cycling experiences having tried BMX, cross country Craig is now plying his hand at downhill. He is an extremely enthusiastic and competent mechanic which comes across when you talk to him. He spins his wheels as often as his decks and loves nothing better than to expand everyone’s mind to new musical and riding experiences. Craig is attentive and very approachable with everyone he meets and has an infectious enthusiasm. He is the 5th of our staff to ride to work everyday.

Favourite bike: impossible to distinguish!
Favourite ride: the last one with friends
Favourite climb: the one into bed at 4am!
Favourite descent: Hamsterly Forest downhill

Kevin

Kevin was once described by the late cycling journalist Colin Willcock as being a 'young all-rounder' and 'lanky'......now a days he's certainly more rounder!
A former 1st  category road man, with a urge for 'going up the road' particularly if the road was also going up, he managed to gain several worthy results in the once flourishing Yorkshire road racing scene, as well as against the clock in time trials...often on hard windy days.
Kevin started frame building at the age of 16 in 1971. He's been with us since 1977  and has gained recognition as a fine frame builder who's passion for his chosen career shows in the artistry and skills deployed in his work.
Favourite bike; Got too many, but I'd have to include my 1982 Woodrup 531db Campag Super Record, as well as my Campag Record 10spd Columbus EGO tubed bike.
Favourite ride; Anywhere in the Dales, or perhaps on Exmoor in Somerset...though the Dolomites take some beating!
Favourite climb; Greenhow hill
Favourite decent; Fleet Moss for probably the fastest

Mike

Mike came to Woodrups after working for many years at a well known local mountain bike store, is very pleased to have made the move and is equally at home selling you a bike or servicing your bike. Having been a Mountain Biker since the early days of racing in the UK and spending many holidays on trails in the UK and western USA, Mike would now have to admit that he has mostly gone over to the dark side and is now mainly a road biker. Favorite kind of riding now long rides with long climbs (not forgetting the long fast descents!) such as those found on the Tour de France, with most holidays recently being spent doing just that in the Alps and Pyrenees. Thereís not much more to say as Mike lives, eats and breaths cycling.

Favourite bike: Cervelo R3 SL
Favourite ride: Porcupine Rim at Moab
Favourite climb: Hard to pick out of the many! Maybe the Telegraph and Galibier.
Favourite descent: Mt Ventoux down to Malaucene.
