Why we use Alpina Extralite spokes
Italian Alpina Extralite spokes deliver exceptional strength-to-weight performance thanks to their double-butted 2.0–1.7–2.0 mm profile. In our internal testing they consistently outperformed DT Competition and Pillar, Competition Race, making Alpina the logical choice as our new standard spoke. Manufactured from high-grade 302 stainless steel, these spokes offer excellent fatigue resistance, durability, and consistent build quality while keeping weight low. To further improve reliability, we combine them with ABT/ABS patented nipples. This innovative self-locking system uses a nylon insert that completely prevents nipples from loosening over time, while maintaining traditional spoke routing. The result is a wheel that remains stable and secure without requiring special assembly procedures whether built automatically or by hand for riders, this means maximum performance, reliability, and the lowest possible weight.
